Let’s face it- everyone knows that when it comes down to digging through your treats at the end of a fun night of trick or treating, there is one candy that people are on the look-out for. Reese’s peanut butter cups.

In fact, we’re pretty sure this is the most-stolen candy out of kids’ treat bags and buckets- and the parents are most definitely the culprit.

Fortunately, this recipe is so decadently decked out in Reese’s that parents will no longer have to rob their children of their candy haul.

If you love cakes, cheese, peanut butter, or anything sweet under the sun, then we are sure that you’ll like this recipe adapted from the wonderful folks over at Hugs & Cookies XOXO.

Ingredients:

For the crust, you will need the following:

  • 1¼ cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 5 Tblsp. of sugar
  • 5 T. of butter

Now, for the cheesecake, you will need the ingredients below:

  • 24 oz. of soft cream cheese (three 8 oz. bricks)
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1 cup sour cream (or plain Greek yogurt for a “healthier” option)
  • 4 eggs
  • 3 T. flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla

And for the Peanut butter frosting, you’ll need:

  • 4 Tblsp. of butter (softened)
  • 3 Tblsp. of milk
  • 2 cups of powdered sugar
  • 1 cup of creamy peanut butter

Finally, for the garnish:

  • 5-6 Reese’s peanut butter cups (cut to halves) *plus minis, if desired*
  • chocolate sauce (optional)
  • Reese’s pieces (optional)

The steps:

  1. First things first, preheat your oven to 325 °F.
  2. Then, mix all the crust ingredients. Press them into the sides and bottom of a 9-inch springform pan or any size of your preference.
  3. Next, bake it for 10 minutes and let it cool.
  4. After that, lower your oven’s temperature down to 300 °F.
  5. Beat the cream cheese and the sugar until the mixture becomes fluffy.
  6. Then add flour, sour cream, vanilla, and the eggs (one at a time).
  7. Pour the mixture into the crust. Drop the pan gently to release the air bubbles inside.
  8. Bake it for an hour.
  9. You may then turn the oven off but leave the cake inside it with the door still closed for a span of 30 minutes.
  10. Finally, remove it from the oven and let it cool. Then put it into the fridge until it becomes cold.

Directions in making the frosting:

  1. Mix the butter and the peanut butter, beat it until the combination becomes fluffy.
  2. Then pour in the milk and powdered sugar. Whip it until the mixture becomes light.
  3. Lastly, put the frosting on the cold cheesecake (design it as desired). Then top it with as much Reese’s as you like.

Enjoy this sweet dessert at home. There is no limit to the amount of Reese’s that you can add to the recipe. After all, your taste buds will decide on just the right amount.

While indulging yourself with this Reese’s cheesecake is a beautiful thing, it is still best to control yourself with all the sugar intake, so you should probably try and force yourself to share it with the fam, though we know that will be painfully difficult to do.

Grab the freshest ingredients now at your local supermarket and try this cheesecake’s sweet makeover at home. Make sure to try this recipe and share photos of your beautiful creations online.

FAQs

What does adding an extra egg to cheesecake do? ›

Eggs: Three whole eggs hold the cheesecake together. I also add an extra yolk, which enhances the cake's velvety texture. (Whites tend to lighten the cake, which is actually fine — if you don't feel like separating that fourth egg and don't mind some extra airiness in the texture, just add in the whole egg.)

How many people does a 12 cheesecake feed? ›

1 1⁄2 inches is just shy of the width of a table spoon. 12 inch cakes can be very generously served to 40 people with each slice measuring about 1 inch across the back.

What happens to cheesecake when the eggs are added too soon or it is over mixed? ›

Make sure to add eggs one by one on low speed and mix until just combined. Over mixing the eggs will incorporate too much air into the batter, which will result in the cheesecake deflating and possibly cracking when it comes out of the oven.

What happens if you over beat cheesecake? ›

When making your filling, overmixing can lead to incorporating too much air into the batter. Once baked, the air bubbles will burst, and the cheesecake will fall and crack. THE FIX: The number one reason why you'd overbeat your batter is because you're having dificulty incorporating cold ingredients.

What happens if you put extra eggs in a cake? ›

Eggs also contain a variety of proteins that create the structure of a cake, and when beaten, they can act as a leavening agent by adding air to the cake batter. However, if you add too many eggs to your cake batter, then your end result could be spongy, rubbery, or dense.

How can I make my cheesecake filling thicker? ›

You can mix a tablespoon or two of cornstarch into your cheesecake filling mixture before baking. Another option is to use a little bit of flour or arrowroot powder. These ingredients will also help to thicken your filling and give it a more consistent texture.

Why is my no bake cheesecake so runny? ›

It's the fat content in the cream cheese and the heavy cream that gives no-bake cheese cake its creamy texture. If your cheese cake doesn't taste creamy, or if it's gone runny despite using fridge-cold ingredients, the most likely reason is that you used low fat ingredients.

What happens if you put cold eggs in a cheesecake? ›

In the case of cheesecakes and other batters with a high fat content, adding cold eggs could re-harden the fat, making the batter appear curdled or lumpy, possibly affecting the texture of the baked product. To avoid this, make sure you use room temperature eggs for baking.

Why is my no bake cheesecake not setting in the fridge? ›

The primary reason a no-bake cheesecake is too runny or doesn't set up properly is generally the temperature of the ingredients. If your cream cheese is too warm, the mixture will be too soft and will never set up properly.

When should you not eat cheesecake? ›

Eggs and milk have high protein and moisture content, and they're the primary ingredients in cheesecake, so when cheesecake is left at room temperature, conditions are ripe for bacteria to multiply. According to the USDA's Food Keeper App, cheesecake should be consumed within 5 to 7 days of refrigeration.

Is it OK to eat a slice of cheesecake? ›

Cheesecake is not considered a nutritious food. However, it can be enjoyed on occasion in small amounts as part of a healthy, well-rounded diet. Eating it occasionally shouldn't affect your health.

Why is my cheesecake weeping? ›

Liquid can also come out of a cheesecake if it is overbaked as the proteins in the cream cheese mixture start to tighten too much and squeeze out the water. The cheesecake should still be quite jiggly when it comes out of the oven, even though it will have risen and formed a crust on the surface.

What effect do eggs have on cheesecake? ›

The eggs set the cheesecake. Cheesecake is effectively a baked custard, as baking it to a particular temperature allows the eggs to coagulate. 1 kilogram of cream cheese is a huge amount so 5 eggs and 2 yolks does not seem disproportionate.

What happens if you don't add egg to cheesecake? ›

The cake will not set properly if there is no egg in the preparation, and you will just have a cream cheese pudding. As delicious as cream cheese pudding sounds, it's actually more like buttercream.

Why is my cheesecake not creamy? ›

Cream Cheese – Be sure you're using full-fat cream cheese, as low-fat will not provide the creamy texture we're looking for. Sour Cream – Again, ensure you're using the full-fat version. Vanilla – Pure vanilla extract is a must for the best flavor in the filling.
