Well, there you have it! This month long marathon of Halloween nail art is coming to an end and I have to tell you... it's been a bit of a rollercoaster. I have to admit that this was basically a three month long process that started with working out far more ideas that I actually ended up doing back in the summer and then I actually started doing the nail art for this Halloween season in the first week of September, alternating through periods of going hard and then taking long breaks as my inspiration and executive function waned. I also ended up with a profoundly broken nail and some family struggles towards the end of this month, so I did have to leave these last two days without nail art, but I would say that 29 Halloween themed nail designs really is nothing to sneeze at! It has been super fun and I'm so thrilled with so much of the nail art I've been able to do.
So without further ado, let's get into my very last Halloween themed nail art design for 2022!
I figured for this one I wanted to keep it really classic with some spooky images and "Happy Halloween" text in an orange and black color scheme. I was actually planning on using a different, much brighter and more classic orange, but in the end I decided to go with a sort of desaturated, vintage sort of Halloween look, so I grabbed for this STUNNING burnt orange shade from Bio Sculpture's brand spankin' Pride Of Nature Collection called Island Clay. It's such a gorgeous, rich orange shade that just absolutely screams fall to me, and it just so happens to fit perfectly with the sort of vintage Halloween vision I had in my head.
I started by applying two coats of Island Clay to all of my nails and let those dry. Next, I decided to go in with one coat of Cirque Colors' Spotted, which is a black flake topper in a clear base that adds a really nice sort of irregular speckled look to the nails that I also thought fit really well with the vibe that I was going for with this one.
For the stamping, I knew I wanted to use this ghost image because it has a sort of vintage feel to it as well - sort of like a kid dressed up in a sheet for Halloween back in the 70s - and I decided to fill it with Cirque Colors' Hatch, which is a white crelly base with fine black specks through it. I liked the idea of this fill for two reasons. First, it added some texture to the fill that I think worked with the vintage feel, and second, because the black specks take down the contrast somewhat and soften the overall look. It was with that contrast level in mind that I chose the taupe stamping polish for the spiderweb images over a white as well, enough contrast to show up but not enough to feel stark. I added the spiderweb image to each nail coming from an edge or a corner. Next, I added my reverse stamped ghost on my ring finger, the "Happy Halloween" text to my middle finger, and then some randomly placed bats to fill any areas on my nails that needed a little extra something.
Once I was happy with the design, I sealed it in with a nail art top coat and then finished with a matte top coat to bring down the shine and amp up that vintage feel. And voila!

Man, coming away from this I have to say I'm really proud for having accomplished it - I must admit that it was a little bit touch and go for a while there - and I'm really happy with pretty much every mani that I did over this past month, though I do have my favorites.
